Hello my viewers,
At one time in my life, I lived in Las Vegas for a few years. Today it is a very different city..... lots of concrete and lights and very little green. And what most people do not know is that there are a million full time residents of Las Vegas. So isn't it wonderful to hear about this community garden and produce stand right in the middle of all the glitz and glamour! Good for them and good for us as a model to follow in our neighborhoods.
Check it out.....and then get together with your neighbors and make it happen near you!
A GARDEN IN THE DESERT

This might be one of the last places you would expect to see a thriving community garden. Right in the city of Las Vegas, the Tonopah Community Garden is growing food for members of the community and even for the local organic food market.
This is Las Vegas' first and only urban farm, opened in March 2010.
"Together We Can" is a community-based nonprofit organization in Las Vegas. Utilizing over four acres of vacant property near downtown, they operate the Tonopah Community Garden.
This garden even has a system in place whereby residents can pay per month for a plot and just come pick up the produce! The raised bed, the soil, the water, the labor and the love are all included!
As mentioned several times in the video, if you can do it here you can do it anywhere! - See more at: http://www.nextworldtv.com/videos/community/las-vegas-community-garden.html#sthash.jdaZPNCO.dpuf
